  • December 1984 to Till Date : Scientist, National Center for Mass Spectrometry, Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Hyderabad
  • Post Doctoral Fellow at Institute of Organic Chemistry, Technical University Berlin, (October1989- August 1991 under the CSIR-DAAD Scientists’ exchange programme)
  • Presented papers in international seminars (European Conference on Tandem MS, UMIST, Manchester, U.K. (July 8-13, 1990) and 12thInternational Mass Spectrometry held in Amsterdam (August 26-30, 1991)
  • Attended a training program on the advanced applications of mass spectrometry at VG Analytical, Manchester, U.K.     (October 2-13, 1995)
  •  Senior DAAD visiting scientist at Institute of Organic Chemistry, T.U, Berlin and Institute of Physical Chemistry, University of Wuerzburg, Germany (May-July, 1999) 
  • Attended the training course on Advanced Techno Management Program for Middle level Scientists by Admin. Staff College of India, Hyderabad (1-8- 05 to 9-9-05)

Gas-phase ion chemistry of reactive intermediates and elusive molecules of fundamental importance.
Organic and biological mass spectrometry .
structure elucidation, mechanistic studies and differentiation of isomers by mass spectrometric techniques

1989-91 : Visiting Scientist at the Institute of Organic Chemistry, Technical University Berlin, Germany, (under DAAD-CSIR scientists' exchange programme)
1990 (July 8-13) : Presented a paper in European Conference on Tandem Mass Spectrometry, UMIST, Manchester, U.K.
1991 (Aug 26-30) : Presented two papers in the 12th International Mass Spectrometry held in Amsterdam.
1995(Oct 2-13) : Attended a training program on the advanced applications of mass spectrometry at VG Analytical, Manchester, U.K.

  • One of the co-authored papers (J. Am. Chem. Soc. 113, 5970 (1991) was adjudged by ‘ “The Scientist (USA)” as a hot paper in 1992 
  • Fellow of A.P. Akademi of Sciences since March 2007 
  • Contributed a chapter on “Neutralization- Reionization Mass Spectrometry” in the book titled “Introduction to Mass Spectrometry” published by Indian Society for Mass Spectrometry, BARC, Mumbai, India 1997.

  • Second best paper award (in organic ms session), 1988, 4th National symposium on mass spectrometry, IISC, Bangalore

  • Best performance award by IICT on CSIR foundation day (26th September 2000) for our paper in Rapid Commun. Mass Spectrom.  13 (1999); 
  • Best performance award for our paper, Angew. Chemie. Int.Ed. 39, 1445 (2000), which was given 1st ranking among CSIR publications in the year 2000 (chemical sciences). 
  • Best performance award for our paper , Chem. A Eur.J. 6, 1236 (2000), which was rated by CSIR as paper with high NIF. 
  • Best Paper Award by CSIR for the year 2004 in the area of Physical Sciences. 
  • Presented invited talks on Mass Spectrometry in symposia and seminars also extension lectures to M.Sc. chemistry students and lecturers 
  • Second best paper award (in organic ms session),2006, 10th ISMAS triennial International symposium on mass spectrometry, Munnar, Kerala 
  • Guided 4 Ph.Ds., 15 M.Sc. students, Presently guiding 5 Ph.D. students.
