Operational Research (OR)as a tool for the management of scientific and industrial research was introduced in the year 1950 itself at IICT (Than known as central laboratories for scientific and industrial research-CLSIR).The O.R technique was primarily used for internal integration and coordination of research. Over the years this area has picked up all the management conception tools like PERT,CPM and Zero Base Budgeting etc.Currently the role of this vital area encompasses the following roles.
